Hand down, my favorite color is seafoam green. I love that it is in right now and is popping up everywhere. Here’s some items I found that look great with this color.
1. Brooklyn Decker at the 2011 Unicef ball
This gorgeous dress is balanced so perfectly with the color and fabric. The pastel green material is light and flowy which gives it that whimsical charm. Brooklyn’s red/coral shoes, lipstick, and nail polish was a bold choice but a great one. Something unexpected but the cross-complimentary colors work, especially with the mix of the pale green and the saturated red. Her hair completes this fabulous look.
2. Sephora, Illamasqua $24
I normally stick to neutrals when it comes to makeup, but this is a great color to play around with for eyeshadow. You can do a fun smokey eye with a hint of green. Apply nude shadow all over the eye, then brush a thick line of Illamasqua right above your lashes on your upper lid and a thin line below your lower lashes. For a more dramatic look, apply more shadow to the inner corner of the eye and the outer area of the upper lid. Take a black eye pencil and line your upper and lower lid with a thick stroke. Take a q-tip and smudge your black line while also blending with the green shadow. Lastly, apply a small dab of gold eyeshadow to your brow bone, right below the arch of your eyebrow.
3. J.Crew, vintage matchstick cord $79.50
Cords are one of those pieces you can dress up or down and I believe versatility is key to any wardrobe. I like how the blue pumps make the pants a bit more dressy while keeping the outfit fun. For a casual look, I would go with a pair of brown combat boots, brown belt and a cream colored thermal.
4. ASOS, pastel metal keeper super skinny belt $10.91
I’m a fan of the skinny belts, they are a great way to add a little attitude to any outfit. Put on a pair of gold studs and a dainty gold necklace, this belt will make them pop.
5. ASOS, shell top with bow sleeve $69.08
This outfit is absolutely adorable, color block fashion at it’s finest. Once again, I enjoy the seafoam green/coral color combination like Brooklyn used. Solid colors allow you to pair bold colors together with out your outfit being too much. I don’t know that I would have thought to add a pair of black and white heels with this outfit but I really think it works. Particularly the mary jane style, it’s very tasteful.
6. Converse, aruba blue Chuck Taylor All Star $50
Everybody should own a pair of Chuck Taylor’s, they are a wardrobe essential. While I love the classic black, this pair looks much more fresh. These would look cute with a preppy summer outfit.
7. Anthropologie, sky rosette bedding $58-$288
I always adore the bedding from Anthropologie. The color and fabric create a delicate and tasteful look. I like the idea of the dark iron with the white bed skirt. I would maybe choose light patterned sheets.
8. Essie nail polish, mint candy apple $8
This is a great matte polish to wear in the spring. Throw on a camel colored ring with these nails, it will coordinate beautifully.
9. Bluefly, Cartier stripe flower and logo print silk square scarf $123.20
The repeated flower patter on this scarf is subtle yet eye-catching. This would be great to wear knotted around the neck for a 50’s style.
